Christian claims top-5 in Wild West Shootout at CAR

Broken Bow, Oklahoma native Gary Christian took on a stout field of 67 Modifieds this past weekend as the Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout returned to its Arizona roots at Central Arizona Raceway.

After a fourth-place finish in his heat race, Christian earned his way into Saturday’s opener with a victory in the consolation event. He followed that up with an impressive charge in the 25-lap feature, advancing 12 positions to record a strong fifth-place finish, chasing Cade Dillard, Reece Solander, Tanner Mullens, and Dustin Sorensen to the checkers.

Sunday’s program began with Christian starting deep in his heat race, where he rallied forward four spots to finish fifth before capturing a B-Main victory. He continued his momentum in the main event, passing 14 more competitors en route to a seventh-place finish.
