9th-place result for Christian during Texas Two-Step
A trip to the Lone Star State and Route 66 Motor Speedway for the Texas Two-Step was on Gary Christian’s schedule during the second weekend in October. He scored a top-10 finish in Friday’s 49-car opening night of the USRA American Racer Modified Series (ARMS) event at the Amarillo track.
After narrowly missing a transfer spot in his Friday heat race, Christian won his B-Main from the pole to start 19th in the 30-lap, $4,000-to-win feature on the 3/8-mile oval. He climbed 10 positions aboard his Hochatown Saloon No. 58x Modified to finish ninth.
On Saturday, with $6,000 on offer to the winner, Christian was part of a 46-car ARMS field. He took fourth in his heat, starting him 14th in the 35-lap main event. He ran as high as seventh, but issues late in the race meant he came home 21st with a DNF.
