Christian grabs top-10 finish at Deer Creek Speedway
Gary Christian raced in the 27th annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree from Thursday through Saturday, picking up his 33rd top-10 finish of the season along the way in the Summit USMTS event.
Christian was one of 52 Modified competitors at Spring Valley, Minnesota’s Deer Creek Speedway when the program got underway on Thursday. After failing to transfer into the night’s feature through his heat race at the 3/8-mile clay oval, Christian steered his Smith Equipment Company No. 58x Modified from 14th to fourth in his B-Main. He went on to start 20th and finish 16th in the 30-lap, $3,000-to-win main event.
Christian turned in his best night of the Fall Jamboree on Friday, when 56 USMTS teams dotted the pit area. He won his heat from the pole, then started eighth in the $3,000-to-win main event. He turned in a 10th-place result in the 30-lapper.
Saturday saw 52 Modified competitors at Deer Creek for the $15,000-to-win finale. Christian began his evening by advancing one spot in his heat race to take the checkered flag. He rolled off from the 11th spot to start the 50-lap feature and came home in the same position.
With just two Summit USMTS weekends remaining in 2025, Christian is sixth in the point standings.
