Christian drives to pair of ARMS podiums in Vivian
A visit to Vivian, Louisiana’s Ark-La-Tex Speedway was on the docket for Gary Christian on Friday and Saturday for two USRA American Racer Modified Series (ARMS) events. In Donnie’s Birthday Bash at the quarter-mile track, Christian finished third each night.
When action kicked off on Friday, 36 USRA Modifieds were in the pit area for the evening’s $1,500-to-win program. Christian finished second in his heat race in his 4J Energy No. 58x car and began the 30-lap feature from the seventh position. He climbed four spots to round out the podium behind Manuel Williams II and Sean Gaddis. Kale Westover took fourth and Dustin Henigan came home fifth.
The next night, Christian competed among 32 USRA Modifieds in the event finale paying $2,000 to win. After taking the checkers in his heat race, he started on the pole in the 30-lap A-Main. He finished third for the second night in a row, chasing Cade Dillard and Chris Henigan across the start-finish line. Trevor Hughes and Williams completed the top five.
Dillard drove Christian’s backup car to the race win.
