Pair of top-10 finishes in Wild West Shootout opening weekend
The 2025 season officially kicked off for Broken Bow, Oklahoma’s Gary Christian over the weekend with the 19th annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts at Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park.
Against a stout field of 51 Modifieds, Christian rocketed into Saturday's opener with a fourth-to-first showing in his heat race. With a $2,000 top prize up for grabs in the feature, Gary rolled to an eighth-place finish.
On Sunday, Gary backed up a runner-up outing in his heat with an 11th-to-7th run in the 25-lap A-Main.
